EDUCATION
"Instead of banning books, we banned hunger from our schools. I will continue to fight to make our education system better, and our children's futures brighter."
HEALTHCARE
“As your state rep, I took on big pharma to reduce Minnesotans healthcare costs. We capped insulin prices and fought to make healthcare more accessible despite insurance companies lobbying.”
Safe Neighborhoods
“Kim Hicks is committed to keeping neighborhoods safe. She will support local law enforcement, increase funding for social services and expand access to mental healthcare.”
INCLUSION
“All Minnesotans should be valued and heard. As your State Representative, I have worked hard to ensure everyone’s voice is heard in St. Paul. No matter one’s ability, race, gender, religion and sexual orientation.” Kim will continue to represent you with dignity and respect.
EMPLOYMENT
“I am a proud union member and understand first hand how unions help families. I work fearlessly and passionately for families and people in Southeastern Minnesota, because the system is not working for everyone. The system should work the same for everyone.”

Reproductive Rights
Kim has fought hard to enshrine Minnesotan women's reproductive rights. She knows the fight has not ended, and is committed to protecting women’s health

With my amazing husband LaMar Hicks we are raising eight children ranging in age from 9-23. Our family has personal experience with special education, autism, immigration, foster care and surviving breast cancer.
I worry about their futures and the futures of all Minnesotans. How will they be successful with rising education costs, housing costs, healthcare costs, and suppressed wages?
I have fought to create a more inclusive and livable Minnesota for everyone. I am not done fighting to put People over politics.
I understand how close many families are to no longer keeping their heads above water. There is still work to do to make Minnesota a state where families and workers can thrive.
“Our union has a long history of supporting candidates who support our member’s jobs, livable
wages, effective permitting and regulatory issues, and all aspects of their work. It is imperative
that our members have strong representation at the local, state, and federal levels of our
government. Our members appreciate your support for the issues important to us and
consequently endorse your campaign for the legislature. “
